Corporate Support & Business Development

I have worked for the service for over 13 years (from when it was previously part of Devon County Council Youth Service and now as an independent charity) as a senior administrator. I have worked in many of the centres and have to say that the work has been varied but extremely rewarding in each of the environments. I am proud to be part of a forward-thinking organisation that has young people at the heart of everything we do.

The rewards of seeing and hearing of young people achieving at all levels bring purpose and job satisfaction to my role. Personally, I have been married for many years and have two children, young adults now, who over the years have taken up my spare time with their extracurricular activities. We can often be found out walking across Dartmoor, rough camping, cycling and generally spending quality time together as a family. I enjoy trying new activities and have recently tried gorge scrambling, caving and coasteering!

HR Advisor

Akpos excels in building effective relationships, utilising his strong communication and interpersonal skills to discharge his HR responsibilities effectively. He actively supports employees, managers, and other stakeholders, relying on his initiative to address HR-related challenges to ensure that expected outcomes are achieved. Having spent over 6 years in HR roles within the NHS and Voluntary sector, he has a proven track record of providing valuable support and guidance on HR processes and procedures. Beyond his professional pursuits, Akpos finds joy in his family life. Holds a (BA) and (MA) in Human Resource Management degrees respectively and he is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). He embraces new technologies relies on this to do his job effectively. Above all, he enjoys networking within his field.

Data Analyst

I joined SPACE in September as an Apprentice Data Analyst. I am enjoying the role and environment very much, I am learning a lot from the team and look forward to being able to apply my skills and make positive contributions to the operation. When I am not working I have two small children at home that keep me very busy!

Finance Officer

I have worked for the service for over 13 years (as Devon Youth Service and DYS Space Ltd) I started as an Administrator in our Exmouth Centre, I have been working in the central team for about 3 years now as a Finance Officer. I have recently completed AAT Level 3, and am currently studying for AAT Level 4. Personally, I have two sons. Both keep me on my toes! I also have my beloved miniature dachshund Oakley, who is an honorary member of the Central Team. We live near the beach and the local common and enjoyed spending most weekends, and summer evenings walking there.

Fundraising and Events Coordinator

I love meeting people and chatting about Space at events across Devon. When I'm not fundraising, or in our youth clubs with my head in my laptop, you can find me on the stage or in the sea!

Digital Marketing Officer

I started at Space in August 2022 as a Digital Marketing Apprentice. In December I completed my course and became Space’s Digital Marketing Officer.

When I am not at work, I enjoy watching live music and spending lots of time with friends and family.
