Peer Action Collective

What is the PAC?

The Peer Action Collective (PAC) is a groundbreaking network of young people, who are designing and conducting research about young people’s experiences of violence. They’ll then be supported to turn what they’ve learned into action. From campaigning to improve local mental health services, setting up a youth centre or supporting young people into employment – the PAC will create opportunities for young people to make their community a safer, fairer place. The peer researchers come from a background of lived experience and have an interest in improving the lives of young people.

How the Peer Action Collective worked

Young people aged 10-25 were able to sign up to join their local Peer Action Collective team, and become a local Changemaker

Being a part of an exciting national project on Youth Violence! Work with a local team of young people, to help research the causes and impact of Youth Violence and what could be done to prevent it.

Changemakers would:

  • Get involved in social action projects and have their voices heard!

  • Work with other young people, make friends and have fun, whilst making a difference.

  • Advocate and make change happen in their local communities!

  • Complete interactive, professional workshops to strengthen their skills and employability

All young people who took part in Peer Action Collective would:

  • Get involved in social action projects and have their voices heard!

  • Work with other young people, make friends and have fun, whilst making a difference.

  • Advocate and make change happen in their local communities!

  • Complete interactive, professional workshops to strengthen their skills and employability.

Make new friends, help your community and have fun!

The PAC is a £5.2 million programme, which aims to give young people the chance to make their communities safer, fairer places to live. It was funded by the Youth Endowment Fund, the #iwill Fund (a joint investment between The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) and the Co-op group.
