Bridging Beats and Community
As the sun rose over Exmouth, anticipation hung in the air for Hive Live 2023, a community and music festival led by young people from The Hive Youth Centre (Exmouth). After a series of rainy days, there was a collective worry that the weather might be a party pooper, but Mother Nature had a surprise in store. The day unfolded beautifully, with sunny skies adorned by a scattering of clouds – a perfect backdrop for an event that radiated energy, talent, and community spirit.
The heart of Hive Live 2023 was the young performers who took the stage and lit up the day with their incredible talents. The stage hosted mesmerising musical performances from various groups of young people from a range of our youth centres based in Devon. A standing ovation to these budding stars, for you truly made Hive Live a celebration of youthful expression.
To those who purchased raffle tickets and donated on the day, your generosity added an extra layer of excitement to the festival, we are grateful for your help and thrilled to say we raised a total of £540.74. Your contributions went beyond monetary donations – they were a symbol of our community that believe in unlocking potential with young people.

The festival grounds buzzed with activity as laughter echoed from the vinyl printing stations where tote bags transformed into unique works of art and where face painting was taking part. Zorbs and sumo wrestling brought out the playful side in everyone, turning the day into joyous fun.
