Should I panic?

No. Feeling anxiety and even panic during the pandemic is very natural, but it is important we look after ourselves and stay calm.

Pandemics have happened many times in the history of the world, and humans and the viruses that cause pandemics adapt and eventually co-exist.

The flu and colds we get today were once like covid, and one day it is likely that covid will become less dangerous. We are especially lucky now because technology and science means we can pretty quickly come up with medicines and vaccines to fight covid.

It is deeply sad that many people’s lives will be negatively effected by covid, but by being careful and following guidelines, we can hope to reduce the impact of this illness.

This section has been fact checked with GAVI the Vaccine Alliance. They help vaccinate almost half the world’s children against deadly and debilitating infectious diseases.
