Welcome to The Hive Youth Centre (Exmouth)

We offer a warm welcome to all young people and a packed programme of activities. The Hive has facilities to help you follow all of your interests and discover new ones- from sewing machines to drones, laser tag to karaoke. Bring friends, or fly solo and make friends with new people in a supportive, fun environment. If you’ve never been to any of our clubs why not give it a go? All sessions are free.

A large space for young people to enjoy all that the Hive has to offer, pool tables, table football, playstations and ping pong along with areas for art and craft, and a stage area and lighting rig, perfect for when we feel a gig or performance coming!

Our fully stocked kitchen is a social place for young people to cook and create, and enjoy meals together, in cooperation with the co-op who provide us with an array of food for you young people. During sessions our tuck shop is open often aided by our wonderful volunteers we sell a range of drinks and snacks.

Our main room has pool tables, the latest consoles and air hockey, all free to use! We also have a dance hall with DJ booth and music rooms – where you can record & make music, practice on our instruments/ learn to DJ. Our kitchen is fully equipped for you to learn new skills or just practice becoming the next best chef!

If you just want a place to practise (as a band or budding musician) then this is the place for you. Perfect for rehearsing, recording your future hit, or just picking up an instrument for the first time! Work recorded in our studio has been featured on BBC Radio introducing at NO cost to young people!

The music rehearsal room is a dedicated space for you to pick up an instrument for the first time, practise your skills each session and have a jam with your mates. Perfectly suited for anyone to come and have a go and try something new and exciting.

A room for young people to hang out in groups and relax away from the music. The chill out room is jam packed with sofas and bean bags, a place to enjoy chatting with your friends and youth workers.

Adding to the creative vibe of The Hive is our exciting new FabLab for budding technology enthusiasts and anyone who wants to learn how to mix creativity and tech, whilst having fun too! Learn Vinyl Cutting, 3D printing, ZBrush Design, CABCAM and more

Our Sessions

No need to book! All our sessions cost £1 to attend, so just come along to a session. To become a member, you can sign up online or on arrival at our youth centre. If you would like to visit the centre before attending a session, be sure to get in touch!

  • Seniors

    Wednesdays 6:30 – 9:00 pm

    Years 9 to 19 years old

    Our Open Access evening for young people in school years 9+. This is a popular club night where young people can come to meet up with friends, and speak to youth workers about anything and everything. The club is pretty relaxed with planned activities to join in with and room to do your own thing too.

  • Juniors

    Thursdays 6:00 - 8:30 pm

    Years 7

    Our youth club for young people in year 7. We always have loads going on from cooking and art to team challenges and more.

  • Inters

    Fridays 6:30 – 9:00 pm

    Years 8 & 9

    Our night for young people in school years 8 and 9 is a fun and engaging space, with a mix of planned activities and space to meet with friends and make new ones too, a great way to start the weekend.

Our SEND Sessions

We offer SEND Sessions, so if you have additional needs, a learning difficulty or a visible or hidden disability, we understand that you may thrive in a setting that provides more support. We have specialist sessions in different parts of the county just for you.

These sessions are FREE to attend, and no need to book, However, To become a member and attend these sessions do contact us at The Hive to arrange a meeting with one of our team. Due to the nature of our Send provision, we do ask to meet the young person first to ensure we can effectively support them and to give them a tour of the youth centre first.

  • Block Club

    Tuesdays 7:00 – 9:00 pm

    Years 7 to 19 years old

    Our session for young people with special educational needs and disabilities, Ages 11+. There’s always loads to do, with art and music being particular favourites! With termly themes including independent living skills, personal safety, building confidence and more, this is a great space for young people who may struggle to engage in one of our busier clubs.
